Peter L'Official is an associate professor of literature at Bard College, where he is the director of the American and Indigenous Studies program. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and Art Forum, and his first book Urban Legends: the South Bronx in Representation and Ruin was published by Harvard University Press in 2020.
