On July 1st four of the project architects working on the September 11 Memorial & Museum gathered at the center for architecture in New York to discuss the fraught design process. This panel discussion was part of the center for architecture's exhibition entitled "A Space Within," which will be on display until September 14th, 2009.
Hui Huishan lived the life of an ordinary young woman in China until she died in the Great Sichuan Earthquake of 2008. The architect Liu Jiakun heard her story and built a small building as a powerful memorial to her and other victims.
