This afternoon, RECORD deputy editor and veteran architecture critic and journalist Suzanne Stephens was honored with the Stephen A. Kliment Oculus Award, named for the former RECORD editor in chief and journalist. The award was bestowed at a lunch reception at Cipriani Wall Street, in a 1842 Greek Revival building by architect Isaiah Rogers (and later added onto by McKim, Mead and White) Stephens called "true architecture" in her brief remarks.

Also among the afternoon's honorees were Bob Tierney, chair of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, who received an award of merit, and Kohn Pedersen Fox's Bill Pedersen, who was given a medal of honor. Awards were also conferred for innovative and attractive designs in 4 categories: Architecture, Interiors, Projects, and Urban Design.
