Russian billionaire and art collector Roman Abramovich has announced a competition to design a $400-million complex on St. Petersburg's New Holland Island. The international list of high-profile contenders includes David Chipperfield, Dixon Jones, OMA, MVRDV, Alexander Brodsky, Studio 44, Yuri Avvalcumov, Work AC, and Lacaton & Vassal.
"It will be a mixed-use development with commercial and cultural spaces and it will be open to the public," Abramovich spokesperson John Mann told The Guardian.
