Curated by Floating Museum, ‘This is a Rehearsal’ spans four anchor sites, including the biennial’s longtime home at the Chicago Cultural Center, and a number of partner sites spread across the city. 

As an alternative to a large apartment block, local firm Stance Architecture revives a dilapidated 1930s house, now joined by nine modern counterparts on the same compact lot. 

The founder of Beijing-based Turenscape is the second person to be awarded with the prestigious honor following Julie Bargmann in 2021. 

The Chicago-based artist joins past recipients of the National Building Museum–awarded honor including Mabel O. Wilson, Paul Goldberger, and Phyllis Lambert. 

Featuring gallery space, an in-house production studio, and more, the new home of Louis Buhl & Co. will be adjacent to the forthcoming Shepherd arts campus in the East Village neighborhood.
