After decades traversing the globe, it seemed like the next stop for Kahn’s enchanting concert boat was the scrap heap. It’s now been saved and is on its way to a makeover and a new home in Philadelphia.
The historic north entrance and half of a striking vaulted passageway reopened on September 18, as part of Gehry’s comprehensive master plan for the institution.
