Arad, the architect of the September 11 Memorial in New York, designed a courtyard to honor the nine victims and five survivors of the 2015 shooting at Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church.
The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, a project of the Equal Justice Initiative in collaboration with MASS Design Group, opens in Montgomery on April 26, along with a museum.
