Ten emerging firms have dressed up the bare concrete courtyard outside New York’s P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center since the institution, housed in a former public school building in Queens, and its Manhattan affiliate, The Museum of Modern Art, began the Young Architects Program in 2000. Winners of the annual competition to outfit the space for the summer include WORKac’s elevated, eco-conscious farm, Xefirotarch’s otherworldly twisting armatures, and SHoP’s sandy city beach.
