The editors of Architectural Record are now accepting submissions for Record Interiors. For decades, this annual issue has celebrated noteworthy contributions to building interiors, where clever solutions and material choices take center stage.
Winning projects will be selected by an editorial jury and published in the April 2025 issue.
DEADLINE
Submit your entry by January 15, 2025, at 11:59PM ET.
ELIGIBILITY
- Architects, as well as interior designers working in collaboration with architects, are welcome to submit projects that are primarily interior in scope.
- Preference will be given to projects that have not been published (online or in print). Previously published work will be evaluated at the discretion of the jury.
- Interiors must have been completed within the last 24 months and inhabited.
- Interiors may be residential, commercial, institutional, or public in nature. They may be new construction, renovations, or adaptive reuse projects.
- Entries must be approved by client for publication and, if selected, must be available for a potential visit by a writer or editor.
ENTRIES
Submissions must be formatted as a multi-page, horizontally oriented PDF (no larger than 10 MB total) and include:
- A succinct project description (no more than 500 words), including architect or firm name, interior designer or firm name, program, brief, location, and solution. Please note any significant sustainable, technological, or material features.
- A comprehensive selection of at least 15 high-quality, professionally photographed images showing the exterior (if applicable) and furnished interiors. Do not include more than two images per page. Please note that Architectural Record does not cover licensing fees for this competition.
- Labeled plans, sections, and elevations with scale and north arrow. Include any critical details or sketches.
TIMELINE
The editorial jury will begin reviewing submissions in late January and early February. Applicants will be notified of decisions in February or March.
FEES
Entries must be accompanied by a credit card payment of US$100 (then US$50 for each additional project), payable after the upload has been completed.
